Sex Positive (Theatrical Trailer)

Sex Positive (2009) Poster Though advocating safe sex seems like a given in the new millennium, in the gay community in the early 1980s, proclaiming the idea made people into outcasts. The Grand Jury Prize winner at L.A. Outfest, this documentary examines the life and work of Richard Berkowitz, an early champion of safe sex. After spending time as a hustler, the abrasive–but ultimately correct–Berkowitz started proclaiming the dangers of unprotected sex in the early ’80s, much to the anger of the gay community. (Source)

Che (Exclusive Scene)

Just got the following email:

On behalf of IFC Films and indieWIRE, we are pleased to announce that an exclusive Steven Soderbergh interview and clip from Che is now live on indieWIRE.com!

http://www.indiewire.com/people/2008/12/honor_roll_08_v.html

One week before his two-part epic, “Che,” opens in New York and Los Angeles, filmmaker Steven Soderbergh talks with Anthony Kaufman in an interview published today at indieWIRE.com. “Since premiering in Cannes,” writes Kaufman (author of “Steven Soderbergh: Interviews”), “‘Che’ has been hailed as both a masterpiece and misguided; either
way, it’s one of the most ambitious films in Soderbergh’s career–a ‘frustrating’ one, he acknowledges–and a fascinating, beautifully rendered reinvention of the bio-pic.”

In his New York production office, Soderbergh reflected on his career, talked about video-on-demand, the RED digital camera, landscape photography and the benefits of being nice. Today’s indieWIRE interview includes an exclusive video clip from the IFC Films release. On December 12, “Che” will be released for one week in New York and Los Angeles as a single 257-minute film with intermission and in theatres nationwide in two parts on Jan. 9th, debuting on VOD starting Jan. 21, 2009.

Little Ashes (Theatrical Trailer)

Little Ashes (2009) Poster In 1922, Madrid is wavering on the edge of change as traditional values are challenged by the dangerous new influences of Jazz, Freud and the avant-garde. Salvador Dali arrives at the university; 18 years old and determined to become a great artist. His bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism attracts the attention of two of the university’s social elite–Federico Garcia Lorca and Luis Bunuel. Salvador is absorbed into their decadent group and for a time Salvador, Luis and Federico become a formidable trio, the most ultra-modern group in Madrid. However as time passes, Salvador feels an increasingly strong pull towards the charismatic Federico–who is himself oblivious of the attentions he is getting from his beautiful writer friend, Margarita. Finally, in the face of his friends’ preoccupations–and Federico’s growing renown as a poet–Luis sets off for Paris in search of his own artistic success. Federico and Salvador spend the holiday in the sea-side town of Cadaques. Both the idyllic surroundings and the warmth of the Dali family sweep Federico off his feet. Salvador and he draw closer, sharing their deepest beliefs, inspirations and secrets, convinced that they have found a kind of friendship undreamt of by others. It is more that a meeting of the minds; it is a fusion of souls. And then one night, in the phosphorescent water, it becomes something else. (Source)
