The worlds of Jules Verne and Robert Louis Stevenson combine in this sequel to the surprise 2008 3D hit Journey to the Center of the Earth. Richard Outten provides the screenplay for the New Line Cinema film that plans to bring the in-your-face action to the fabled island that became the basis for such books as Treasure Island and Gulliver’s Travels. Dwayne Johnson stars in the movie, with Josh Hutcherson returning to the franchise — something that original cast member Brendan Fraser opted out of due to scheduling conflicts.
