Norman Long is a high school loner, a self-aware and darkly funny teen who’s just trying to handle his daily existence. At the beginning of the 20th century, China is in a state of crisis. Celine Sciamma brings light and charming touch to this contemporary coming-of-age story, which is also about relationships between children, children and parents, and the even more complicated one between one’s heart and body.
