Recently, Alex and I have noticed that Apple has begun watermarking their trailers. They’ve added the Apple logo (as seen to the left) to the bottom right corner to most if not all their new movie trailers.
This has been going for few weeks already. The first set of trailers I noticed this was around late September when the trailer for Waltz With Bashir and Breakfast With Scot came out. At first, I thought they only watermarked exclusive or independent movie trailers, but later on I noticed they watermarked mainstream movie trailers available at multiple sites.
It’s not annoying per se, but does somewhat ruin a perfectly good high definition trailer. It’s sort of like people who watermark their photos so others can’t steal them.
Well that’s a shame…
Anyway, would it be possible for you to include a note in future posts? Stating whether the trailer(s) include the watermark, or don’t, or unknown. That would be awesome! Thanks!
I believe it’s safe to expect that all new Apple movie trailers will have that watermark. So if you see that the download link points to the apple servers, just assume it has a watermark.
Now even Yahoo is starting to do it. Making it a pain in the ass to finish my video with. Not sure how to go around that, just wait for moviefone to release it cause they are cool and dont watermark their shit.
