Avatar (Teaser)

Avatar Poster AVATAR takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, AVATAR delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story. 1. Haven’t seen many versions pop up on YouTube so decided to not chance it (copyright claim). So instead I have done a 720p encode and uploaded it to MU.

As for the film, loving how Pandora looks, seeing it in 3D will be mind blowing however not too sure about the design of the Na’vi race, they do look very odd.

  2. MRJ is right; I was able to download the 1080p earlier (when it first came out), but now it doesn’t work.

EDIT: It seems that no Apple links are working right now. I’ve tried trailers posted a few days ago and they all come up as HTML files.

  3. Found the issue, they’re checking to make sure the user agent is Quicktime. When I spoof the Quicktime user agent, I was able to download any Apple trailer.

    Hopefully this is just temporary.

  4. Lets see what the highest budget [$400 Billion] and 10 years in the making looks like…think its over-hyped but can’t wait and see how far we’ve come in terms of 3D technology. IMAX here i come…in December

Thanks for the mp4 encode guys

  5. @ NeXus – according to Wikipedia the budget was $237 million, and the film has taken about 4 years in production but was first thought up 14 years ago by James Cameron.

Also I cannot believe how much negative feedback I have been reading around the internet since yesterday about this film.

The film is going to be roughly 2 hours 30 minutes, almost all of it will be CGI based in a heavily detailed make-up world and people still complain saying it isn’t what they expected and are disappointed.

Considering its heavy use of CGI I personally think they have done a phenomenal job combining live action into a CGI based world. Not sure if the film will be full IMAX, but the sound, video and 3D effect in an IMAX theatre will be amazing. This film will not disappoint but I think people were expecting too much, and if they do that they will not enjoy it as much.

  6. Agreed, but movies that are usually over-hyped by not the fans but say in this case, the producers and directors. It usually tends not to live up to the expectation by us movie fans. I’m sure Avatar will still be a HUGE [Dark Knight Caliber] success with Box Office records left and right, but I hate it when movie studious and their producers and directors are the ones creating all this hype instead of leaving it to us fans to spread the hype via word of mouth or online blogs. Just Sayin…

Thanks again guys for the MP4 Encode guys.

BTW, anyone know how I can build a $500 HTPC with a quad core, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and 512MB low-power GPU, and 1-1.5TB HDD? Newegg prices still can’t match my price range.

  7. @NeXus – with the specs you’re looking for, you probably won’t get it at normal market price. You’d probably have to keep an eye on deal sites (i.e. SlickDeals, FatWallet) and buy items as deals show up.

  8. I like the Avatar 3D film, particularly the story line, not only it brings a very new sensation however eye opening ideas of humanity. I heard the New Avatar 2 is comming soon, cannot wait to see it again…!
